Bloodsucking Zombies From Outer Space – Return of the … [2010]

July 22, 2010 Leave a comment

The Bloodsucking Zombies From Outer Space are an austrian horrorpunk band that formed in 2002. The music is full of reminiscences of psychobilly and influenced by persons like Tobe Hooper, Lucio Fulci and Dario Argento as much as from bands like Nekromantix, Mad Sin and Use to Abuse.
BZFOS usually deal humorously with themes and stereotypes from popular horror-b-movies (such as zombies-, mummies- and mass murderertokens, cemetery-fete-phantasies or draculas preferred car)

The members of BZFOS adhere to pseudonyms and attitudes, which they usually express at concerts. According to their statement, they come from the distant planet Transilvania and arrived at the earth to flood the people with the music of evil, called rock’n’roll. Furthermore they want to play the most bloody rock’n’roll on earth.

Their albums were published by the label Fiend Force Records. Read more.

The Caravans – Glamorous Heart / Motel Blues [1998]

June 8, 2010 Leave a comment
Caravans were formed in Southsea back in 1983 and have been touring and recording for the best part of 22 / 23 years Included regularly on the bill at the famed Klubfoot in the early days, the band find themselves equally at home in front of Rockabilly / Psychobilly audiences and often general nu music listeners everywhere they go. Trying not to attract any kind of music business tag they play shows in there home town featuring bands across all genres. Abroad they are still touring Europe & recently the West coast of the states.

Their music has evolved over the years from what was once hard hitting but melodic up tempo neo Rockabilly to these days a harder and very up to date sound drawing influence from the likes of NOFX, RANCID and to a large extent the Irish r n r punk of FLOGGING MOLLY

So if you like your music a melting pot of everything thats punk and rnr these are your guys..Enjoy

The Spinballs – Hell and High Water [2004]

The Spinballs “Hell & High Water”
©2004, Black Sky Records

Wow, what a distinct sound these guys have. I can’t really put my finger on what it is, but I really like this psycho group’s style. Of course they have a kick ass bassist, the drummer is incredible, and the guitar has a real unique, almost southern flavor that matches the cool grimy vocals. There is a definite horror influence to these guys with songs like “This Coffin AinТt Big Enough”, “Living Dead”, and “Adopted By The Devil”. These guys are fast and chaotic while remaining tight and unique. /Lisa Marie

Animated Film: Judas & Jesus [2009]

June 3, 2010 Leave a comment
This is a fantastically blasphemous animated short. Full of violence, sex, and the kind of humour that strikes right at the heart of the self- righteous, this film has everything to inflame the Christian audience no doubt tearing this thing apart.

Which is a shame, because the production is top notch, and the comedic timing is impeccable. Judas as a character is able to be sympathised with while also being the kind of despicable low-life that seems to embody most of today’s oversexed youth. Any way you look at it, it is intelligent and challenging.

Probably too pornographic to watch openly at work, this is still a must see. Rebelli… Read more.

Bad Dooleys – Shark Attack [1987]

April 22, 2010 1 comment
Shark Attack! was the debut mini LP from the Lower Saxony-based stompin’ outfit, out on the Dutch KIX4U label in 1987. This eight-track affair comes along with wild stomping, peppy sounds from the high-speed scale of 80′s Psychobilly, backed by traditional subjects, solid arrangement and sheer enthusiasm. Never re-released on any format, this 12” vinyl has become a collector’s item. The best songs are the title theme Shark Attack, The Black Phantom and Stomped Dance. Read more.
