Stitch Hopeless & The Sea Legs – Gone Bats [2009]

June 28, 2010 1 comment
STITCH HOPELESS AND THE SEA LEGS is an American workin’ class psychobilly band with punk and Oi! influences. Trashy, disturbed punk-brewed psychobilly from the bleak desert landscape of Phoenix; this is voodoobilly punk rock for kids who threw their lives away long ago. A perfect sonic discovery for fans of Demented Are Go!, Frantic Flintstones, Misfits, Hank III and GWAR.

Stitch Hopeless & The Sea Legs have been sweating and cursing for years to put their lo-fi bonanza of garage country thrashabilly on the map. Whiskey-soaked tunes full of self-loathing, revenge and utter despair – and a lot of fun! After polishing their musical chops for years in the smokey bars of Phoenix, AZ., Stitch Hopless and the Sea Legs busted down the doors of the psychobilly scene with their debut album, “Stuffin Coffins Since 1977″ out on Psychobilly U.S. and Distributed by Hairball 8 records. The album combined Stitch Hopeless’s gravely anthems with careening melodies to churn out a fine collection … Read more.

Frenzy – In The Blood [2010]

June 22, 2010 1 comment
Formed in 1983 by Steve Whitehouse, Frenzy went on to be one of the premier 1980s generated neo-rockabilly/psychobilly bands of that era. Becoming well known for such great recordings as the Hall Of Mirrors album and the Clockwork Toy album which spawned their 1986 indie hit, I See Red. The band transposed their great performances onto stage with well constructed songs, many of which have become anthems, and a really energetic live show. From the early 1990s, Frenzy pushed the envelope and were ahead of their time in their approach to the modern rockabilly sound, some of which has become really en vogue of late. The band never ever really went away, and have been playing and recording continuously since their formation. Now with 13 albums under their belts, the latest of which is Nitro Boy, on their own record label Crash Records, Frenzy is again going from strength to strength. The last 3 albums, Nine O Nine, Dirty Little Devils, and Nitro Boy really show that Frenzy are once again… Read more.

Cryptidz – Something Cryptid This Way Comes EP [2010]

June 14, 2010 Leave a comment
CRYPTIDZ was newly formed in 2009, when award winning score composer/punk rock musician Rob Reider {TOOTH AND THE ENAMELS/LO-REZ/GREEN HELL} and death metal vocalist Kam Lee {BONE GNAWER/THE GROTESQUERY and more… formerly of MANTAS-DEATH/MASSACRE/DENIAL FIEND} decided to just go for it and form a creepy eerie horror filled macabre band that blends influences from the 80′s era type of “old school” Death-Rock, Horror Punk, Psychobilly, Surf Rock, and Crust-Core styles.

The general idea and theme of the band is based around classic horror and spook house fun! Zombies, sexy pin up babes, Cryptid creatures – Big Foot/Yeti/Skunk Ape/Chupacabra, sexy pin up babes, beer and alcohol, sexy pin up babes, horror films, sexy pin up babes, Go-Go Dancers, sexy pin up babes, Monsters and Madmen, and even more sexy zombified pin up babes.

Like a carnival ride thru a freak show in hell – CRYPTIDZ shall rattle your brain and twist up your intestines!
Taking influences from ‘classic death rock…

Coffin Draggers – Dying Breath [2007]

June 10, 2010 1 comment
Hailing from Los Angeles, The Coffin Draggers blend a unique sound of rockabilly, Goth, and deathrock, with a hint of industrial, to create a style that can be categorized as psychobilly, but due to the spooky content is often referred to as Gothabilly. Their music is lively and upbeat mixed with a dark humor that makes for a morbidly fun atmosphere! Their musical influences range from classical to death metal.

“The Coffin Draggers play the ultimate devil’s music — psychobilly, but not the wacky kind; they burn with the sweet smell of psychosis. The North Hollywood three-piece transcend the genre’s clichés with a rhythm section that veers from big-band explosiveness to Minutemen intricacy.” – L.A. Weekly.

“The Coffin Draggers were intense. Their onstage presence was a huge adrenaline rush. Robert Frank hit the drums hard and fast, Jose Sleeping was amazing on guitar, and best of all was the tongue-wagging, trench coat-donning bassist Gator McMurder. His performance would mak… Read more.
